Ok so I had to share. We had some work happening across the road this last week. The very very large trees are being trimmed a little to avoid the limbs dropping.....you would not want to be under any of them believe me and they do drop more often than I am comfortable with!
So Joel and watched while eating lunch on most days as the me scalled up to the limbs with their trucks etc and then dropped the branchs down for the chipper. Sadly the Gallahs use these trees as their hang out, and once the men had left I spotted this solitary Galah....circling the tree.....just wondering where all his favourite branches had gone. It was so weird. He circled and cirled that tree. Landed and then flew up around and landed again. He was confused.....poor love.
This is the tree so you can get some perspective of its size.....
keep in mind I am lying on our lawn about 40mtrs from the gate you can see, and the tree is on the other side of the road outside the gate. Be a good 70-80 metres from the base of the tree!
and here is our little sad Gallah.
Love watching them inflight.
I am sure he will find some other branches.....
